I recently had the nerve-racking opportunity to ‘pitch’ my business in front of a live audience over over 150 business people including a panel of esteemed judges. This marked the end of my 40 week “becoming a key person of influence” journey.

I had 5 minutes to get up on stage and expose myself bare. No visual prompts or slide decks, just me and the audience.

Both crazy scary and one of the most liberating experiences of my life.

I ended up coming 5th out of 10 participants and getting some great feedback from the judging panel and audience.

I had always shied away from public speaking as it terrified the hell out of me. Getting this monkey off my back has been a great confidence booster.

My pitch:

Hello! My name is Jon Hollenberg, and I own a website design business called Five by Five.

We specialise in identifying the true character or brand of our clients.

Then we build a beautiful, high converting website that delivers more pre-sold leads to that business.

I’ve been doing this for over 17 years, working with iconic brands such as Qantas, Jeep and the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, plus hundreds of other smaller businesses Australia-wide.

I really love what I do, so much that I written a book about it “Love at First Site – How to build the website of your dreams”.

A typical customer for us has 5 or more staff and they turnover more than a million dollars. In most cases, they really need to boost the leads and inquiries through their website.

So what they want, what they get are more of the right customers ready to buy, right now.

You see, these 3 major problems that my clients face:

  • They have a horrible looking website
  • That website does not contain enough quality content
  • It is not designed around conversion

Our clients are really lost before they start working with us, they don’t know where to start and they’re worried that they’re gonna stuff it up.

They’re completely frustrated with their current website designer because he doesn’t listen to them, understand their business or just communicate in plain English.

Because their website is not actually performing, it’s doing them more harm than good.

But their biggest mistake is they have no sense of the pain that this is actually causing their business.

  • We then go into a fact-finding mission, getting really intimate understanding of their business and their industry.

  • We launch that site, making sure that everything that should be done gets done using our hundred-point checklist.
  • And then we review, refine and improve.

The end result is a beautiful site, because we believe a site should be a beautiful extension, of you, your business, your brand, your personality.

Typical results are we can launch a site and double a clients’ traffic and level of inquiry within 3(three) months.

Take for example, my client Darren, a very talented architect. He was completely fed up with his current website designer. He had a shoddy-looking site that didn’t reflect the true creative person that he was. So we equipped him with the right tools, for his right customer, and the way that that customer wanted to buy. Fast forward 12 months on, and Darren has more leads and business than he can actually handle.

You see, nothing breaks my heart more, when someone is so talented and so creative but they are not actually getting ahead and they’re not getting the results that they deserve.
